Skills & Job Descriptions
- Prescribe medications, order laboratory tests, and interpret test results to formulate appropriate treatment plans.
- General physicians perform routine check-ups and preventive care to promote overall wellness.
- General physicians conduct consultations with patients, both new and returning.
- Listen to patients’ medical histories, symptoms, and concerns, and perform physical examinations to assess their overall health.
- Diagnosis and Treatment & Routine Check-ups : Based on patient consultations and examinations, general physicians diagnose and treat various medical conditions.
- Advise patients on healthy lifestyle choices, offer vaccinations, and provide recommendations for disease prevention and health maintenance.
- General physicians collaborate with specialists, surgeons MS MD MBBS Physiotherapist BHMS BAMS Paramedical nursing Staff Resident Medical Officer, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Refer patients to appropriate specialists when necessary and coordinate care plans for complex cases.
- General physicians are responsible for managing chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and arthritis. Monitor patients’ conditions, adjust medications, and provide necessary referrals to specialists when required.
- Emergency Care: In hospitals, general physicians are often involved in emergency care. They handle urgent cases, stabilize patients, and make initial assessments before referring them to specialized departments or admitting them for further treatment.
